9/26/25 | Climate Week Tour: Battery Energy Storage System

WBC Member Host: Deborah Bradley, DBC

Meeting Point: 119-05 Linden Blvd, Queens, NY 11420

Time: 10am - 11am

Client: NineDot Energy

This project aims to create a new Energy Storage site in partnership with Con Edison to supplement the power grid during times of high demand. The site at 119-03 and 119-05 Linden Blvd in South Ozone Park, Queens consists of a suite of Tesla Megapack Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and a new Electrical House, an unmanned substation under Con Edison Specification EO-2022. This specific location aims to distribute 8MW of power during times of high demand to supplement the needs of the area and to increase overall grid efficiency, and to store energy during times of lesser demand, such as overnight.

This site will feature protective sound barriers to minimize impact to the surrounding area, a robust Fire Suppression system built around the BESS in compliance with FDNY’s NFPA 15, and a solar installation atop the E-House to power the site’s operation itself.
