New Year, New Decade, New Opportunities!
With 2010 ahead of us, women continue to grow and prosper in the workplace. Over the past decade women’s jobs have taken a turn for the better. Within the next few months women will cross the 50% threshold and become the majority of the American workforce.
WOMEN ON BOARDS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Women are making an impact at the Executive Level. Studies show that companies with more women on the board will have more women corporate officers five years later. These studies also reveal that when women are on corporate boards, the financial performance of these companies tend to do better.

Making Sense of the Mandatory Sick Day Debate |
|
The front page of The Chicago Tribune on December 13th featured three large color photos and a big headline: “Sick — but Still at Work.” The article talks about the travails of four women who went to work even though they were sick. You might wonder how this became front-page news; I am reasonably certain that this is not the first time that someone has gone to work sick.
