The WBC Champion Awards Dinner 2009 is weeks away and we are proud to have an excellent roster of Honorees and Presenters, as well as a stellar Dinner Committee that is helping us with what will become an unforgettable event.
The Third Annual Champion Award Gala and Dinner will take place on October 21st at the Bank of New York Mellon, 101 Barclay Street, NYC.
REMINDER: Outstanding Women Award nomination deadline is September 30th! We are waiting for your nominations of women professionals in your firm who are making outstanding contributions, whether it is as executives, team leaders or administrators. All winners will be included in a print and online publication and directory of Outstanding Women, which will be permanently displayed on the WBC website, www.wbcnyc.org, and will become a separate print publication later this year.
You can nominate an Outstanding Woman today by visiting the nomination page and following set guidelines. All nominees will be reviewed by our esteemed panel, and winners will be honored at the Champion Award Dinner.

Stand clear of the soaring cost overruns! The price tag for the MTA's already-way-overbudget Fulton Street Transit Center just went up by another $40 million. The stalled project, which was supposed to cost $750 million, had already mushroomed to $1.4 billion, and its completion date, once 2007, was recently pushed back until 2014. Now, a judge has ruled that the MTA must pay $40 million more than the $100 million it had offered to owners of land it seized to build the jinxed project. |

INTEGRATED PROJECT DELIVERY: Enhanced BIM Collaboration
Integrated Project Delivery, developed by the AIA, is a process
designed to assist owners, designers, and builders move towards
better integrated delivery methods and improved design,
construction, and operations processes.
The goal of the conference is to identify the characteristics of IPD
and provide specific information and guidance on how to utilize IPD
methods to achieve better projects. An introduction of IPD will be
presented, including an overview of legal concerns and how BIM
can be used as collaboration tool, followed by a panel of east coast
based experts presenting their unique perspectives on how IPD is
changing their roles, changing the delivery process, and how it can
improve projects from design through construction.
