Volume I, Issue 33 - Week of August 17th, 2009
The annual WBC Dinner is quickly approaching. Don't miss out on the opportunity to nominate the outstanding women leading the construction industry. It is time to celebrate the champions and trailblazers who are leading the next generation of women builders. For more information about the 2009 Champion Awards, visit www.wbcnyc.org
In a stimulus update, even though NYC transit agencies have received $1.57 billion in federal stimulus funds for capital projects, studies show a disappointing lack of newly created jobs. Also, New York has ranked dead last of all 50 states for its economic outlook. But despite a bleak peek into the economy, all is not lost. Bloomberg is moving to restart stalled development in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, providing stimulus aid for two new projects and, as always, women in the construction industry continue to change the face of New York.
How To Nominate an Outstanding Woman
You can nominate an outstanding woman today by visiting the link below and following set guidelines. All nominees will be reviewed by our esteemed panel, and winners will be honored at the Third Annual Champion Award Gala and Dinner on October 21st at the Bank of New York Mellon, 101 Barclay Street, NYC. All winners will be included in a print and online publication and directory of Outstanding Women, which will be permanently displayed on the WBC website, www.wbcnyc.org.
More next week...
